Karen Kissler has been instructing riders and training horses for over 25 years. She trained her two school horses, Foxy and Allie, to be 3rd Level school horses. Allie and Foxy teach students to ride: bend, leg-yield, collection, shoulder-in, half-pass, and flying changes. Karen educates her students and teaches riding skills with patience and understanding (understanding the challenges of body control/awareness on a 4 legged moving animal!).
April 2014, Karen cliniced with international sport horse trainer, Britta Johnston, and soon after began intense training with Britta at Mountain Vista Farm. Britta submersed Karen in the German training system starting with seat lessons on well bred dressage horses. Britta also found well bred dressage horses for Karen to develop. Sept 2017 brought the purchase of Revere (5/25/2015, Oldenburg gelding, Sire: Ridley, Dam: Feinder’s Fee, Dam’s Sire: Feiner Stern. In May of 2018, Britta once again identified a perfect young talented horse for Karen. Baciami (5/19/2013 Oldenburg mare, Sire: Bon Bravour, Dam: Sarafina, Dam’s Sire: Sandro Hit), arrived in the U.S. June 2018 for a month of quarantine and by July 3rdwas settling into MVF. While Revy was growing and learning the basics (tack, round pen, verbal commands), Karen and Baci qualified for 2019 GAIGS at 1stlevel making the first year a huge success in training progression, scores, and exposure to various competition venues. 2020 is shaping up to be a year of continued training and taking time to focus on the details while we wait for the return of competitions shut down due to Covid-19.
